Wow, it's been a while, apparently life gets in the way of this whole internet thing sometimes. Well anyway, I'm maiing a guitar!!! I have decided to take the bits off a Fender Telecaster (don't worry, I'm not massacring a REAL tele) and stick em on a Flying V (which I have routed the body for from scratch). I will call it... The flying Tele!!! I'm gonna get a lovely Seymour Duncan PUP for my bridge, and a lipstick for the neck... OMNOMNOMNOM. I will be posting up pictures of my unique project for all those who care to enjoy!

Well, I didn't get the job. Well, shit happens I guess. On the bright side, I am reading a good book a the moment, it's called Imajica. Oh! and, go Obama!! woo

Looks like things might finally go my way. I recently applied for a job with a company called magic light productions as a creative designer. Im not exactly holding my breath, but they're looking for people that they can train from scratch, which is great for me, cuz it's pretty much what I've always wanted to do! It seems, at least up until now, that all these colleges I've applied to need prior experience, which is stupid, seeing as anywhere that gives you experience requires qualifications! But hey, these guys look to be quite cool, and it'll be such a great opportunity for me to make my art look less rubbish

I just read spyed's journal entry on the politics of dA, and... uh, wow. That was a bit of an eye opener. As an obviously new member, I really had no idea of the madness that encircled the whole deal. However, the 'death' of the staff member was spectacularly funny. And the member's reaction to the DD request was also spot on, considering the circumstances. But anyway, spyed's insights into the inner workings aren't the source of my rant. One or two of the comments are. Now, I realise that perhaps it may not be my place to make comments such as this, what with being a baby and all, but I feel almost offended by one or two of the remarks of deviants below. One struck me in particular. Now I'm not going to complain that this was an atack on our community blah blah blah. I'm not that sad. But what was said seemed to disparage the digital medium as art. The gist of it was that as a traditional artist, he saw digital art as soulless and hollow, comparing it to the stereotype of one man with a guitar could never be replaced by a synthesiser. While electronic music doesnt replace traditional rock n roll, in the same breath it doesn't try to. I augments it. Ever hear portishead? I call that art. Anyway, music aside, I think art is something that should take a medium of any form. No one should ever be tied to one medium of expression. Why should we be? We should be free to express ourselves as we see fit. Why not pick up a graph tab and design some fractal madness, does that not reflect the chaos in some of our minds? In the same breath, picking up a pencil paintbrush, or even a guitar is no fuckin different. That comment on spyed's journal only seemed to prove his point. We need to love each other, dAmmit (see what I did there)! Why can't a traditional artist appreciate that some of the greatest art in our world today is digital? What is wrong with that? It's still expression isn't it? I dunno. Maybe I'm ranting too much. Whatever.
